Love Bug Crafts for the Kids

Heart Ladybug

Materials

  • Red, pink and black construction paper
  • Red marker
  • Red pipe cleaner
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Two googly eyes

Instructions:

    1. Using the black construction paper, cut out a black circle and one smaller circle to be used as the body and head of the ladybug
    2. With the red paper, cut out a heart as big as the body
    3. With the pink paper, cut out another heart that’s smaller than the red heart
    4. Turn the red heart upside down and glue onto the ladybug’s body, then do the same with the pink heart on top of the red
    5. Take your googly eyes and glue onto the head and use the pipe cleaner to make 2 small antennae
    6. Use your red marker to make dots on the ladybug’s body, or write a note to your Valentine!

Love Bug Caterpillar

Materials:

  • Red and pink construction paper
  • Red and pink pipe cleaner
  • Small red pom-poms
  • Two googly eyes
  • Hole puncher
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions:

    1. Cut out three of the same size circles from the red paper and three more circles from the pink paper
    2. Punch one hole on each side of the circles
    3. Glue the circles together by overlapping them slightly at the ends, and alternating the pink and red circles to form the caterpillar body
    4. Cut the pipe cleaner pieces into sections that will be the legs, and thread each piece through the punched holes
    5. Glue each googly eye onto a pom-pom and then attach them to the end of the caterpillar for its face

Love Bug Spider

Materials:

  • Pipe cleaners
  • Pom-pom
  • Two googly eyes

Instructions:

    1. Line up 3 strips of pipe cleaner and twist them twice in the middle
    2. Separate the ends of the strips evenly, with 3 on each side to create legs
    3. Glue two googly eyes onto the pom-pom which will act as the spider’s body
    4. Glue the pom-pom on top of the legs
